Yes, I realize I am out of order here but…
I played my first gig (solo) with my implant last Saturday at Soda Pop Junction in Lynnville, Tennessee. I play there regularly so it was a low stress environment. First gig since before the surgery in November last year.
The net is that the gig went fine. Certainly, it sounded a little strange for me but I’m pretty comfortable, with my wife’s assistance, that it sounded decent, as it usually does. Even if it sounded a little strange to me.
The other issue of note is that the dog’s quack bark actually sounded like a bark yesterday morning, without my hearing aid.
So it is good to know that my brain is adjusting, albeit slower than I would perhaps like.
I have also noticed just lately that the sound level seems to be lower in my CI implanted ear so I am cranking the implant up again. I don’t know where this stops, to tell the truth, but as I can no longer hurt my hearing in my right ear, with loud volumes, I am not too worried.
I hope those of you who have CIs recently find this encouraging.
God bless.
