Today is the 4th day since my implant was activated, It is the 4th morning since I fully charged my implant battery which alerted me when it got to 30% that I should charge it. I started charging it at 28%.
Basically, I know I can get 72 hours on a charge with 28% remaining. That is quite acceptable to me.
I am still on profile 2 this morning but will switch to profile 3 later today.
Yesterday I went to the EAA chapter meeting in Columbia and was much better able to hear the various speakers until the end, when everyonee was speaking at the same time. I probably could have reduced the sensitivity but did not have the controller / charger with me anyway.
Geral sound and tone improves noticeably each day, then retreats a little the following morning but continues to improve overall.
Speech recognition remains a challenge but I am making an effort to not read lips to aid in the retraining. I also started reading aloud to myself and will probably spend some time each day doing that. I think practicing for my next gig will help in this regard too.
I have downloaded the Advanced Bionics apps onto my phone and also Med-Els ReDi app so will start on those later today too.
