Thursday 8th is day one post cochlear implant activation day, hence the title. This post summarizes from activation day post on.
Most of my activation day information is posted on that day’s post.
The first night, i.e. the night of activation day, I kept the cochlear implant on, as recommended. I was warned that it might be noisy so I took a melatonin in case. It was noisy so I did wake a lot. Fortunately, the melatonin I had taken helped me get back to sleep pretty much right away.
My habit is to sit in bed for an hour or so in the morning drinking my coffee and checking investments and what tragedy has befallen the world overnight, or what I missed the previous day.
I decided this might be a good opportunity to charge my implant battery so I put the induction coil over the battery and started charging while I read and drank my coffee. When I started the battery was around 58% and about an hour and 15 minutes later it was 100% charged. I had charged it from 35% to 58% the previous evening. When I received it from the engineer on activation day it was 35% charged. That was enough to get me home over a 10 hour drive.
The rest of day one activity is covered in my day 2 post, so if you have an interest go there.
