This is a song based on Psalm 63. I think this song was written, and this recording was made, circa 2006 or 2007. We all live through difficult times, this was one of mine. As with a lot of my own songs I play this one a little differently today, a little slower and sometimes just on the piano. One day, hopefully, I’ll make a new recording of it with strings…one never knows.
I sent a copy of this song to a pastor I used to know up in Canada and he asked me for permission to give it to Brian Doerksen (his son-in-law) to record, which of course I provided. As far as I am aware Brian has never recorded it and in fact I don’t know if he has ever heard it. Brian is very well know for songs like “Hallelujah, You Love Makes Me Sing”, “Faithfullness”, “Come, Now Is The Time To Worship” and many others.
