Here is a short video of me playing Lovers & Fools, a song I wrote a while back, at Vincenzos Pizza in Newhall California. In the back behind me you can see outstanding percussionist Steve Reid sitting in. You can hear his percussion despite the fact that this was just taken on a little cell phone.
Steve was a founding member of The Rippingtons and performed with / was a member of Supertramp in 1987/ 8. A really sweet guy and a tremendous musician.

I found this lovely video on your website. You’ve heard about Steve’s passing, I take it? He left this earthly plane on September 24th after struggeling with multiple health challenges for the past 7 to 8 years. I will be missed by many. Indeed, he was a sweetheart, and my childhood hero and buddy. I spent a lovely afternoon with him at his studio/home in august 2015. Will always carry him in my heart.

No, I did not know he had passed, thank you for letting me know, I really appreciate it. I did know he was pretty ill over the last few years. A very sweet guy and a great percussionist. I had him come and put some percussion on a reggae tune I have not done anything with at this point but he was so good. That was in 2019 I think.
I used to go an pick him up and take him to play with my band from about 2015 – 2019, something like that, you may be able to find some pictures and video at rsu.rheller.net. He did not always come but mostly to Vincenzos Pizza. I am gradually adding photos but I am pretty busy so it’s taking a while.
I think we are in that age when a lot of friends are moving on. I myself am in good health although I am having a cochlear implant inserted this month. So far I can hear enough to play, but not to record anything or mix anything.
