I have been suffering from profound hearing loss for a number of years now and finally was assessed and committed to replacing at least one of my Oticon hearing aids with an implant.
This finally came to fruition on November 18th, 2025 with my participation in the Envoy Acclaim® clinical trial. I am going to try and keep some kind of diary here but I first need to check the paperwork I signed for the trial as I may be limited as to what I can and cannot say.
Once I have confirmed I am at liberty to discuss my experience I will, as time allows, detail at least some of my experience here. Which is not to say you will have the same experience, but I will be another resource for people considering cochlear implants, particularly musicians.
